Man Killed in 6800 Southwest Freeway Fatal Auto-Pedestrian Crash
Houston, Texas (March 9, 2017) – A male pedestrian was killed early Tuesday night after being struck by two vehicles on South U.S. Highway 59 in Houston, according to a police report.
The fatal auto-pedestrian accident occurred at about 1:45 a.m. March 7, as per the report.
According to the report, a man was crossing the street when a gray Lexus struck him. Another driver passing by saw the Lexus with its flashers on and then saw the pedestrian down in the traffic lane. The motorist stopped and tried to pull the injured pedestrian off the freeway. As he moved the pedestrian, he was almost hit by an 18-wheeler that then struck the victim and fled the scene.
The man was declared dead at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
