Van Zandt County, Texas (November 14, 2017) – According to authorities, a motorcyclist was killed Saturday evening after colliding with a pickup in Van Zandt County.

The crash happened at around 6:45 p.m. Saturday, November 11, at Texas State Highway 64 and Farm-to-Market Road about 2.5 miles north of Edom in Van Zandt County.

According to investigators report, 44-year-old Brian Michael Rios from Ben Wheeler was operating a 2004 Harley Davidson motorbike east on Highway 64 when he collided with a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 18-year-old Carley Brianne Weishuhn, of Garland south on FM 314.

According to a report, Weishuhn stopped at the intersection of FM 314 and Highway 64. However, Weishuhn did not yield the right of way for Rios

Authorities said Rios was transported to Christus Trinity Mother Frances hospital in Tyler for treatment where he was later declared deceased while Weishuhn was not hurt in the crash.
