Two Teens Injured in Baytown Crash With 18-Wheeler at Decker Drive and Oakland Street

Houston, Texas (March 16, 2017) – According to a Harris County Sheriff’s Office report, two teens were injured late Monday night after a vehicle slammed into an 18-wheeler in Baytown.

The injury accident occurred at about 11:50 p.m. Monday, March 13, on Decker Drive near Oakland Street.

According to the report, a pickup truck driven, by an 18-year-old man, was speeding around a curve when it crashed into a trailer of an 18-wheeler. The pickup, whose top was sheared off in the crash, got stuck under the trailer.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and extricated the driver and his 17-year-old female passenger. Both teens patients were flown to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.  The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.

The police closed Decker Drive for a few hours as deputies investigated the incident.
