31-Year-Old Man Injured in Holland Train Crash on Mills Lane

Holland, Texas (January 4, 2022) – A 31-year-old man was injured on December 29 in a train crash, about three and a half miles north of Holland, according to the DPS.

The crash happened around 5:20 p.m. on Mills Lane.

DPS said the man was driving a pickup truck westbound when he failed to stop at a railroad crossing for an approaching train, and the pickup truck was struck by the train.

The man was airlifted to Baylor Scott & White in Temple with incapacitating injuries. He was the only occupant of the truck.

No injuries were reported on the train.

An investigation is underway.

We wish the injured victim a quick recovery.

“When a person has suffered a grave personal injury in an accident due to someone else’s negligence, the most overwhelming emotion they feel is a sense of injustice. They often ask how such a life-altering event could have happened to them,” attorney Joel A. Gordon said. “The next question usually is, who can help me?” Mr. Gordon added.

A legal advocate can represent an injury victim or the family of a deceased victim. The attorney will file a claim on behalf of the victim and will have the responsibility of citing existing codes, laws or statutes which were violated.
