Driver Hospitalized after Amarillo School Bus Crash on Georgia at State Loop 335

Amarillo, Texas (August 28, 2019) – One person was injured Tuesday morning in a school bus crash in south Amarillo, according to a local news release.

The crash took place on Tuesday, August 27, on Georgia at State Loop 335.

According to the DPS, witnesses said a school bus crash was heading northbound on Georgia approaching State Loop 335, while a passenger car was eastbound on the frontage road of Loop 335 and was stopped at the intersection of the frontage road and Georgia.

The car driver failed to yield and pulled into the intersection, directly into the path of the bus, resulting in a collision.

The bus driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

None of the children on the school bus was injured. They were offloaded and another bus transported them to school.

An investigation is underway.
