Man Hospitalized after Cumby Truck Accident on County Road 4719 near Interstate 30

Hopkins County, Texas (June 19, 2019) – A man was hospitalized Tuesday morning after a traffic accident involving a train in Cumby, authorities said.

The crash, which was reported at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 18 on County Road 4719, just north of Interstate 30 service road.

According to the authorities, a black extended cab pickup truck collided with the train on the railroad tracks for unknown reasons.

The force of the impact caused the truck to travel into the grassing area just north of the railroad tracks, with one of its tires blown off into the grass in front of it. The back end of the truck sustained the heaviest damage.

The male occupant of the truck was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. His name and current condition were not immediately disclosed.

The crash remains under investigation.
