1 Killed, 1 Critically Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash on N Loop 1604 in San Antonio

One Killed, One Hospitalized after San Antonio Crash on N Loop 1604 near Interstate 10

San Antonio, Texas (January 18, 2023) – One person was killed and another was injured in a crash involving a dump truck and an SUV on Tuesday afternoon in San Antonio, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

The crash occurred at about 3:22 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, at N Loop 1604 near Interstate 10.

Police said a dump truck was traveling eastbound on the access road when the driver ran a red light and hit a BMW SUV that was traveling southbound on the I-10 access road. Both vehicles were totaled.

The driver of the BMW, a man in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The dump truck driver, a man in his 20s, was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Alcohol or drugs was not considered a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
