1 Killed, 1 Hurt in 2-Vehicle Crash on Harwin Drive in Houston

48-Year-Old Woman Killed, 1 Injured in Houston Car Accident on Harwin Drive near West Sam Houston Parkway

Houston, Texas (June 5, 2019) – A 48-year-old woman killed and one other person was injured Monday night in a traffic accident in Houston, authorities said.

The deadly wreck happened at around 9:30 p.m. Monday, May 28 in the 10600 block of Harwin Drive near West Sam Houston Parkway.

According to the authorities, a red Nissan Altima was heading northbound on West Sam Houston Parkway South service road when it entered the Harwin Drive intersection and hit the passenger side of a silver Mazda CX5.

As a result of the crash, the Mazda spun and crashed into a pole. A red Nissan Versa that was stopped at the red light at the intersection westbound on Harwin Drive was struck by debris from the Mazda

A passenger in the Mazda was taken to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Her name has not been disclosed pending notification of family.

The Mazda driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. The operator of the Nissan Versa was unhurt in the wreck.

Neither alcohol nor drugs were not factors in the crash.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
