One Killed and One Injured in Vidor Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 12

Vidor, Texas (January 7, 2020) – One person was killed and another was injured in a head-on collision Monday afternoon, northeast of Vidor, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 4:20 p.m. on January 6, in the 7000 block of Highway 12.

Police said a passenger vehicle was heading eastbound on the highway while an 18-wheeler was heading westbound.

According to witnesses, the passenger vehicle began to drift into the westbound lane and collided head-on with the 18-wheeler.

The driver of the passenger vehicle was pronounced at the scene.

The driver of the 18 wheeler truck was taken to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
