One Killed and One Injured in Rusk County Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 225

Rusk County, Texas (August 18, 2021) – One person was killed, and another was injured Sunday night in a two-vehicle crash in Rusk County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 9:30 p.m., August 15, on FM 225, four miles south of Henderson.

DPS said a 2016 Kia Forte was traveling southbound on the highway while a 2016 Kia Optima was traveling northbound.

The Forte then crossed the center stripe and crashed into the Optima.

The Optima driver was taken to the hospital, where she later died.

The Forte driver was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

No further details were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
