One Killed and Two Injured in Young County Three-Vehicle Crash on Highway 114 at Highway 16

Young County, Texas (October 3, 2020) – One person was killed, and two others were injured in a three-vehicle crash on Thursday in Young County near Loving, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened on October 1, at the intersection of Highway 114 and Highway 16.

DPS said a semi-truck pulling a trailer was heading eastbound on Highway 114 while a pickup truck was heading northbound.

The pickup failed to stop at the intersection and hit the passenger’s side of the semi-truck.

The impact pushed the semi-truck into westbound Highway 114, where it struck a Ford SUV that was attempting to turn southbound onto Highway 16.

The pickup truck driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The semi-truck driver sustained minor injuries in the crash.

The Ford driver was airlifted to United Regional with unknown injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

We pass our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
