One Killed and One Injured in McLennan County Two-Vehicle Crash on Heritage Parkway near Olive Branch Road

Axtell, Texas (December 28, 2019) – One person was killed, and another was injured in a fiery head-on collision Friday evening in rural McLennan County, north of Axtell, according to the DPS.

The crash was reported around 5:30 p.m. December 27, in the 500 block of Heritage Parkway south of Olive Branch Road.

DPS said a Volkswagen Jetta was heading northbound on Heritage Parkway when it veered into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a Chevrolet Equinox.

The impact caused the Chevrolet Equinox to burst into flames.

The driver of the Volkswagen Jetta died at the scene.

The Equinox driver was airlifted to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Waco in an unknown condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
