One Killed in Taylor Crash on FM 1660 near FM 973

Taylor, Texas (May 18, 2022) – One person was killed early Wednesday morning in a collision between two 18-wheelers in Taylor, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The deadly crash happened at about 2:00 a.m. on FM 1660 near FM 973.

The DPS said the two 18-wheelers collided on FM 1660 near FM 973 under unclear circumstances.

One of the drivers died in the crash. The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Authorities closed Eastbound 1660 from FM 973 to SH 95 while the investigation and clean up took place.

Further details regarding the crash were not immediately provided.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
