One Killed in Austin Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 71

Austin, Texas (October 14, 2022) – One person was killed Thursday afternoon in a head-on collision in Austin, according to officials.

The fatal crash happened around 3:13 p.m., October 13, on State Highway 71.

Officials said three vehicles were involved in a head-on collision.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not been released.

Another person was taken to St. David’s South Hospital with serious injuries.

A third person refused transportation.

No further information was immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.
