One Killed in Dallas Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 35 at Walton Walker; Luis Parra Arrested

Dallas, Texas (April 27, 2022) – According to the authorities, one person was killed, and a Dallas man has been arrested following an early Saturday morning hit-and-run crash in Dallas.

The fatal crash happened around 3:30 a.m., April 23, on Interstate 35E at Walton Walker.

According to the authorities, a witness said an SUV and a sedan were exiting southbound I-35E when the sedan driver, who was in the right lane, cut in front of the SUV in the left lane to stay on the southbound interstate.

The sedan then struck the SUV. The impact pushed the SUV, and it crashed head-on into a metal guardrail and burst into flames.

The SUV driver was killed in the crash. Their identity has not been released.

The sedan driver continued heading southbound on I-35E, and the witness followed the sedan until they got an accurate description of the vehicle and the license plate before turning around and going back to the scene of the crash. The witness gave the information to the police.

The authorities tracked down the sedan, a red 2015 Nissan Altima, and on April 25, the driver, 23-year-old Luis Parra of Dallas, was arrested. He is facing a charge of accident involving death, a second-degree felony.

An investigation is underway.
