One Killed in South Austin Pedestrian Accident on S. Lamar Boulevard

Austin, Texas (August 24, 2020) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident Sunday afternoon in South Austin, according to officials.

The deadly accident occurred around 3:56 p.m., August 23, in the 4300 block of S. Lamar Boulevard.

Officials said a vehicle struck a pedestrian and then crashed into a light pole.

The pedestrian was killed in the crash. Their identity has not been released.

The driver was extricated and taken to the hospital with potentially serious injuries.

Another victim refused transport to the hospital.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
