One Killed in Jackson County Two-Vehicle Crash at SH 111 and FM 1157

Jackson County, Texas (March 19, 2021) – One person was killed Wednesday evening in a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck in Jackson County, authorities said.

The fatal crash happened around 6:00 p.m., March 17, at the intersection of SH 111 and FM 1157.

Authorities said a tractor-trailer was traveling westbound on SH 111 approaching the intersection while a Toyota was traveling southbound.

The Toyota ran a stop sign at the intersection and hit the rear axle of the semi-truck.

The Toyota became pinned under the wheels and was dragged by the semi-truck. 

The Toyota driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not been released.

The crash closed the roadway until around 1:45 a.m.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
