One Killed in Harris County Two-Vehicle Crash on Katy Freeway 

Harris County, Texas (July 3, 2021) – One person was killed Friday night in a two-vehicle crash in west Harris County, according to the deputies.

The fatal crash happened around 8:40 p.m., July 2, in the 22857 block of the Interstate 10 Katy Freeway.

Deputies said a tractor-trailer was traveling westbound on the freeway when it pulled into the left/inside shoulder. The driver of a westbound Chevrolet Cruze veered off into the left shoulder and rear-ended the tractor-trailer.

The Chevrolet driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released.

The crash closed all westbound lanes of the Katy Freeway at Mason. 

The crash remains under investigation.
