1 Seriously Injured in Traffic Accident at 27th Street and Slide Road in Lubbock

24-Year-Old Man Hospitalized after Lubbock Car Accident at 27th Street and Slide Road
Lubbock, Texas (February 12, 2019) – A 24-year-old man was hospitalized early Monday morning in a traffic crash at an intersection in Lubbock, police said.
The wreck was reported at around 2:15 a.m. Monday, February 11 in the area of 27th Street and Slide Road.
According to the police, the 24-year-old man was driving a Dodge Stratus northbound in the 2700 block of Slide Road when he lost control and hit a boulder on the east side of the road.
The Dodge Stratus then continued traveling across the sidewalk and crashed into two vehicles that were parked in a parking lot at 2801 Slide Road.  Two additional parked vehicles had damage from the crash debris.
The force of the impact caused the Dodge Stratus to flip over and came to a stop in the 5100 block of 27th Street.
The 24-year-old man, who was a sole occupant of the Dodge Stratus, sustained major injuries. He was transported by EMS to University Medical Center.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
