14 Injured in East Bexar County Charter Bus Crash near Loop 1604 and Schuwirth Road

Bexar County, Texas (July 27, 2020) – According to officials, 14 people were injured Sunday afternoon in a charter bus crash in East Bexar County.

The crash happened around 5:15 p.m., July 26, near Loop 1604 and Schuwirth Road.

Deputies said the bus with 15 people on board crashed into a car while making a left turn. The bus also crashed into a pole.

The people on the bus were part of a church retreat group.

14 people were taken to the hospital for treatment. Three of the victims had serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

One person had to be airlifted to the hospital.

Motorists were urged to seek alternative routes.

The crash remains under investigation.
