2 Children Killed, 8 Injured in Drag Racing Accident at Kerrville Aviation in Kerrville County

Two Children Killed and Eight Injured in Kerrville County Drag Racing Accident at Kerrville Aviation

Kerrville, Texas (October 24, 2021) – According to the authorities, two children were killed, and eight others were injured Saturday afternoon in a drag racing accident in Kerrville County.

The fatal crash happened around 3:20 p.m., October 23, at a temporary track at Kerrville Aviation at the Kerrville-Kerr County Airport, about about 65 miles northwest of San Antonio.

Authorities said a drag racing vehicle lost control, left the runway, and struck spectators and parked vehicles.

A 6-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene. An 8-year-old boy was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

A 46-year-old woman and a 27-year-old woman were taken to the hospital in critical condition.

A 26-year-old man was also taken to the hospital in unknown condition. A 34-year-old man was also hospitalized in stable condition.

Two people were treated and released at the scene. A 3-month-old girl and a 4-year-old boy were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The injured were taken to Kerrville, Austin, and San Antonio hospitals.

The police are investigating the crash.
