2 Injured in San Angelo Crash at Sherwood Way and Southland Boulevard
San Angelo, Texas (January 9, 2019) – Two people were hospitalized Wednesday morning following a traffic accident in San Angelo, authorities said.
The collision happened just after 8:00 a.m. at the intersection of Sherwood Way and Southland Boulevard and involved three pickups, one car and a trailer.
According to the authorities, a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado hauling a 2016 trailer was heading northwest on Southland in the right lane when for an undetermined reason it was rear-ended by another Silverado.
The force of the impact caused the pickup to spin out and the trailer to come off the pickup and collide with a 1998 Honda Civic and a 2003 Silverado.
The Civic driver and a passenger of the 2003 Silverado complained of neck pain.
The operator of the pickup that slammed into the rear of the trailer was arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession of marijuana. Investigators on scene conducted a sobriety test on the driver and found that he was not drunk.
Southland was shut down for more than an hour while emergency crews worked at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
