2 HPD Officers Injured in Wrong-Way Crash on Gulfton Street in Houston

Two Houston Police Department Officers Hospitalized after Houston Crash on Gulfton Street at Westward Street

Houston, Texas (July 16, 2022) – Two Houston Police officers were injured in a wrong-way DUI crash in southwest Houston on Saturday morning, according to the authorities.

The wreck took place in the 6300 block of Gulfton Street at Westward Street.

Authorities said the two HPD officers were on their way to help another officer on a call.

The officers were traveling eastbound on Gulfton Street and were trying to turn left to go northbound on Westward Street when the patrol vehicle they were traveling in collided with a car that was traveling eastbound in the westbound lane of Gulfton Street.

Both vehicles came to a stop at the intersection after the crash.

The two officers and the suspect were taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries.

No other details about the crash were immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
