2 Injured in Bicycle Crash on Old Jacksonville Highway and Oak Creek Boulevard in Tyler

Two Injured in Tyler Bicycle Accident on Old Jacksonville Highway and Oak Creek Boulevard

Tyler, Texas (April 2, 2021) – Two people were injured Thursday night in a bicycle accident in Tyler, according to police.

The accident occurred around 7:00 p.m., April 1, in the area of Old Jacksonville Highway and Oak Creek Boulevard.

According to police, witnesses said a car was traveling at a high rate of speed when it struck a bicycle before crashing into a wooded area.

The bicyclist was taken to Christus Mother Frances with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to UT Health Main with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators said alcohol was a possible factor in the crash.

An investigation is underway.
