2 Injured in Boating Accident on Cedar Creek Lake in Gun Barrel City

Two Hospitalized After Gun Barrel City Boating Accident on Cedar Creek Lake at Eastwood Island Subdivision

Gun Barrel City, Texas (August 1, 2020) – Two people were injured Thursday night in a boating accident in Gun Barrel City, authorities said.

The crash was reported around 9:45 p.m., July 30, on Cedar Creek Lake in the area of the Eastwood Island subdivision.

Authorities said a boat crashed onto an island.

One of the two boaters was ejected into the water.

The boaters were located south of Eastwood Island. The person that had been ejected into the water had been able to get himself back on the boat before rescue officials arrived.

One of the boaters was taken to UT Health Cedar Creek and the other was airlifted to UT Health East Texas in Tyler. Both victims had serious injuries.

The Texas State Game Wardens are investigating the crash.
