Two Injured in Orange County Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 62

Orange County, Texas (June 8, 2022) – Two people were injured Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Orange County, according to the Texas DPS.

The crash happened around 3:00 p.m., on June 7, on Highway 62, north of Hoohoo Road.

DPS said a 2019 Chevrolet pickup was parked diagonally in the road, blocking traffic while a commercial motor vehicle was backing out onto the highway.

A 2011 Kia SUV was traveling southbound when it failed to control its speed, veered right to avoid striking the vehicles, and then overcorrected back to the left and struck the Chevrolet.

The SUV driver and the Chevrolet driver were taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.

No other details were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
