Two Injured in San Antonio Two-Vehicle Crash on Evans Road and Stone Oak Parkway; Natalie J. Chapman Arrested

San Antonio, Texas (January 13, 2021) – Two people were injured Tuesday evening in a DUI crash in San Antonio’s Far North Side, according to police.

The crash happened just after 9:00 p.m., January 12, on Evans Road and Stone Oak Parkway.

Police said Natalie J. Chapman, 36, was driving when she allegedly ran a red light and struck an SUV. The impact pushed the SUV down an embankment where it crashed head-on into a boulder.

The passenger in the SUV had to be extricated and was taken to the hospital with a fractured pelvis.

Another person was also taken to the hospital for treatment.

Chapman was arrested and has been charged with Intoxication Assault.

The police are investigating the crash.

In Texas, a driver is legally intoxicated after consuming alcohol if their blood alcohol content (BAC) is .08% or higher. A driver is also considered intoxicated if they don’t have the normal use of their mental or physical faculties by reason of the introduction of alcohol. Alcohol, however, is not the only intoxicant, as drivers can become intoxicated by ingesting prescription and illegal drugs such as crack, marijuana, and cocaine.

Regardless of what substance caused the driver’s reaction time to become significantly altered, intoxication by any means can cause terrible accidents and injuries.
