2 Injured in Hit-and-Run at Lavaca and W. Cesar Chavez Streets in Austin

Two Severely Injured in Austin Pedestrian Accident at Lavaca and W. Cesar Chavez Streets 

Austin, Texas (August 3, 2022) – Two people were severely injured on July 16 in a hit-and-run accident in Austin, according to the police.

The accident happened around 11:57 p.m., at the intersection of Lavaca Street and W. Cesar Chavez Street.

Police said the two people were struck by a vehicle at the intersection.

The vehicle then fled the scene heading northbound on Lavaca Street before turning eastbound onto W. 4th Street and then heading northbound on Congress Avenue.

Both victims were taken to the hospital with severe injuries.

The suspect’s vehicle was described as a dark-colored four-door sedan, and it possibly has a disabled placard hanging from the window.

The police are looking for the suspect and the vehicle.
