Two Injured in San Antonio Two-Vehicle Crash on Steves Avenue and New Braunfels Avenue

San Antonio, Texas (May 7, 2022) – Two people were injured Saturday morning in a hit-and-run accident in San Antonio, according to the police.

The crash happened around 12:44 a.m., at the intersection of Steves Avenue and New Braunfels Avenue.

Police said a green 2016 Kia Soul was traveling northbound on S. New Braunfels when an eastbound white van ran a red light at the intersection and struck the rear left bumper of the Kia.

The force of the impact caused the Kia to crash into a pole.

The Kia driver, a 41-year-old woman, and a passenger, a 15-year-old boy, were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The van driver fled the scene after the accident. If located, she will be charged with two counts of failure to stop and render aid – moving.

The police are investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
