Port Arthur, Texas (September 29, 2020) – Two people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash Monday morning in Port Arthur, according to the DPS.

The crash happened at about 11:00 a.m., September 28, on U.S. 69.

According to a preliminary investigation, a 2018 Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling northbound on the highway and was being followed by a 2020 Honda passenger vehicle, a 2019 Toyota SUV and a 2013 Cadillac.

The vehicles were slowing down due to stopped traffic when the driver of a 2014 Dodge van failed to control his speed and rear-ended the Cadillac. The impact pushed the Cadillac, and it rear-ended the Toyota. The Toyota then rear-ended the Honda, pushing it into the Chevrolet.

The Dodge driver was taken to CHRISTUS Southeast Texas St. Elizabeth with unknown injuries.

The Toyota driver was taken to Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas with unknown injuries.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

We hope the injured victims recover quickly.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
