2 Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 288 in Freeport

Two Injured in Freeport Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 288 at Dow Bridge

Freeport, Texas – Two people were injured Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Freeport, according to the authorities.

The crash happened around 1:30 p.m., January 31, on Highway 288 at the intersection of Copper Road at the Dow Bridge.

Authorities said a southbound 2004 Honda Accord was traveling over the speed limit when it struck the passenger’s side of a 2023 Chevy pickup hauling a trailer as it turned into the intersection.

The Honda driver, a 20-year-old Angleton man, was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in Lake Jackson for treatment. A passenger in the Honda was also taken to St. Luke’s with minor injuries.

The pickup driver was identified as a 30-year-old Angleton man.

The crash remains under investigation.
