2 Juveniles, 6 Adults Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Bastrop Highway in Austin

Two Children, Six Adults Hospitalized after Austin Crash on Bastrop Highway Northbound

Austin, Texas (July 19, 2022) – Eight people, including two children, were injured in a Tuesday morning multi-vehicle crash in East Austin, according to authorities.

The 10:46 a.m. collision occurred in the 247-317 block of Bastrop Highway Northbound and involved several vehicles.

Details on what led up to the collision at this time are unknown, but authorities said one person was pinned inside their car after the wreck.

A total of eight people were injured in the crash. Three of them were taken to Dell Children’s, a child with serious injuries, a second child and an adult with minor injuries.

Another adult was transported to Dell Seton with serious injuries. Four others were taken to St. David’s South, two with potentially serious injuries and the other two with minor injuries.

Northbound lanes were closed following the crash. Drivers were asked to seek an alternate route.

No further details about the crash were immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
