Two Killed and One Injured in South Austin Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 35 near SH 45
Austin, Texas (July 24, 2020) – Two people were killed, and another was injured in a fiery two-vehicle crash early Friday morning in far south Austin, near Buda, according to police.
The fatal crash happened around 12:45 a.m. on Interstate 35, just south of State Highway 45.
Police said a man was driving the wrong direction on the northbound lanes of the interstate when he crashed into a truck towing a trailer.
Both vehicles caught fire after the crash.
The man was declared dead at the scene.
A man in the truck was also declared dead at the scene. A woman was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The crash closed both directions of Interstate 35.
The police are investigating the crash.
