2 Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Webb Chapel Road at Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway in Dallas

Man, Woman Killed in Dallas Two-Vehicle Crash on Webb Chapel Road at Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway

Dallas, Texas (January 18, 2021) – Two people were killed in a hit-and-run crash early Sunday morning in northwest Dallas, according to police.

The fatal crash happened on January 17, in the 11900 block of Webb Chapel Road at the Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway.

Police said a 49-year-old man and 77-year-old woman were traveling northbound when another vehicle that was traveling eastbound on the Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway service road ran a red light and crashed into their vehicle.

The impact caused the victims’ vehicle to hit a retaining wall. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not been released.

The driver who ran the red light fled the scene. A passenger in his vehicle was detained and taken to Parkland Hospital with minor injuries.

The police are investigating the crash.
