Two Killed in Montgomery County Multi-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 69

Cleveland, Texas (December 13, 2020) – Two people were killed Saturday evening in a multi-vehicle crash in Montgomery County, according to police.

The fatal crash happened around 6:45 p.m., December 12, on Interstate 69 near the San Jacinto River.

Police said a Toyota was stopped in traffic due to a vehicle fire when a commercial van rear-ended it before clipping a Chevrolet Tahoe.

The impact caused the Toyota to spin and crash into the right rear of a pick-up truck.

One person in the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene. Another person was taken to the hospital, where they later died.

The van driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons for driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
