Two Killed in San Antonio Two-Vehicle Crash at Highway 16 and S. Zarzamora; Gabrielle Gaitan Charged

San Antonio, Texas (September 14, 2021) – According to the police, two women were killed early Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash in San Antonio.

The fatal crash happened around 4:30 a.m., September 13, at the intersection of S. Zarzamora Street and Highway 16.

Police said a gold SUV was traveling northbound when it ran a red light at the intersection and crashed into a southbound sedan that was turning onto Zarzamora Street.

The force of the impact pushed the sedan off the roadway and into a ditch.

Two women in the sedan were killed in the crash. Their identities have not been released.

The SUV driver Gabrielle Gaitan, 28, was found walking away from the scene. She has been charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter and two counts of failure to stop and render aid.

The police are investigating the crash.
