2 Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on Eastex Freeway in Houston

Woman, Child Killed in Houston Two-Vehicle Crash on Eastex Freeway near North Loop

Houston, Texas (July 18, 2021) – A woman and a child were killed early Sunday morning in a wrong-way crash that left four other people injured in Houston, according to the police.

The deadly crash happened around 3:00 a.m., on the Eastex Freeway near the North Loop.

Police said a woman was driving the wrong way on the freeway when she crashed head-on into another vehicle.

The woman’s car caught fire after the crash. 

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.

The five people in the other vehicle, two adults and three children, were taken to the hospital, where one of them, a 2-year-old, later died.

The other victims were listed in serious conditions.

Officers said intoxication might have been a factor in the crash.

No further details were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
