2 Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on Highway 281 in Edinburg

Two Killed in Edinburg Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 281

Edinburg, Texas (June 28, 2021) – Two people were killed Sunday morning in a wrong-way crash in Edinburg, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 5:41 a.m., June 27, in the 900 block of North Highway 281.

Police said a 41-year-old man was driving a blue Nissan Sentra southbound in the northbound lanes of the highway when it crashed head-on into a silver Chevy Volt driven by a 31-year-old man.

The Sentra driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Chevy driver was taken to DHR hospital where he later died.

The identities of the victims have not been released.

The crash remains under investigation.
