2 Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on IH-20 in Reeves County; Juan Orta-Gonzalez Arrested

Two Killed in Reeves County Four-Vehicle Crash on IH-20; Juan Orta-Gonzalez Arrested

Reeves County, Texas (November 21, 2022) – Two people were killed on Saturday in a wrong-way crash in Reeves County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened on November 19, on IH-20 near mile marker 19.

DPS said Juan Orta-Gonzalez, 30, from McAllen, Texas, was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of the highway when he struck Joseph Orr, 19, of Denton, who was driving westbound.

The impact left Orr’s car disabled in the center of the westbound lanes, where it was struck by a third driver. It was also struck by a fourth vehicle.

Both passengers in Orr’s car were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not been released.

Juan Orta-Gonzalez was arrested for two counts of Intoxication Manslaughter.

The troopers are investigating the crash.
