Houston, Texas (September 13, 2021) – According to the police, two people were killed Sunday morning in a wrong-way crash in southwest Houston.

The fatal crash happened just before 5:00 a.m., September 12, on Southwest Freeway near West Bellfort.

Police said a vehicle was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of the freeway when it was clipped by an oncoming 18-wheeler.

The 18-wheeler then lost control, went off the freeway, and plunged over a barrier wall and onto the feeder road below, where it caught fire.

Two other vehicles were also involved in the collision.

The driver of the 18-wheeler and the wrong-way driver were both pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not been released.

The crash closed the Southwest Freeway southbound main lanes and the feeder road for several hours.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
