2-Month-Old Baby Among 4 Injured in Head-On Accident on State Highway 46 in New Braunfels

Four Injured in New Braunfels Car Crash on State Highway 46

New Braunfels, Texas (March  31, 2019) – A 2-month-old baby was among four people injured in  head-on collision that took place in New Braunfels early Saturday morning, according to the authorities.
The incident happened at around midnight on State Highway 46 southbound.
Police said a Toyota pickup driven by a 19-year-old man was swerving in the southbound lanes of the highway when it drifted into the path of oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a northbound Chevy Malibu. The truck rolled over onto the driver’s side after the collision.
Witnesses rushed to the scene and pulled out the 2-month-old baby from the Malibu while the 23-year-old female driver was assisted by the first responders. The woman suffered critical injuries and was flown to San Antonio Military Medical Center. Her child was taken to  Resolute Hospital as a precaution.
The two occupants of the Toyota were taken to Seton Hospital in Austin.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
