Three Injured in Johnson County Three-Vehicle Crash on FM 917 near CR 616

Johnson County, Texas (November 23, 2021) – Three people were injured on November 12 in a head-on collision in Johnson County, according to the Texas DPS.

The crash was reported around 8:21 p.m., on E. FM 917 near County Road 616.

DPS said a pick-up truck was traveling eastbound when it clipped the back left of a westbound semi-truck.

The pickup then collided head-on with an SUV that was traveling behind the semi-truck.

The pickup driver, a 49-year-old man, had to be extricated and was airlifted to JPS with serious injuries. He has been charged with Driving While Intoxicated.

The driver and passenger of the SUV were taken to Mansfield Methodist Hospital for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
