3 Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash on Katy Freeway in Houston

Three Injured in Houston Multi-Vehicle Crash on Katy Freeway near Highway 6

Houston, Texas (April 25, 2021) – Three people, including an off-duty police officer, were injured in a hit-and-run crash on Sunday in Houston, according to the police.

The crash happened at a construction site on the Katy Freeway westbound near Highway 6.

Police said a vehicle was sideswiped at the construction site. The off-duty officer and the construction crew foreman got out to look at the damage and were hit by a gold-colored Mercedes.

The Mercedes fled the scene after the accident.

Both victims were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A while later a pickup truck rear-ended a Houston Fire Department engine that had responded to the first crash.

The pickup driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The authorities are looking for the Mercedes which has extensive damage.

An investigation is underway.
