3 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash at 31st Street and Broadway in Galveston

Child Among Three Hospitalized after Galveston Crash at 31st Street and Broadway

Galveston, Texas (December 29, 2022) – A child was among three people who were injured in a Monday morning crash at an intersection in Galveston, according to the Galveston Police Department.

The crash happened at around 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 26 at the intersection of 53rd Street and Broadway.

Police said Malik Sheppard, 22, was driving a red Kia at a high rate of speed when he allegedly ran a red light at the intersection and crashed into five vehicles.

A child sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital. Sheppard and two other people were also hospitalized in unknown conditions.

Sheppard was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. His bail was set at $25,000.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
