Three Injured in Grimes County 18-Wheeler Crash on Highway 90

Grimes County, Texas (July 15, 2020) – Three people were injured Tuesday morning in a three-vehicle crash in Grimes County, according to a local news source.

The crash happened around 8:37 a.m. July 14, on Highway 90, near the Holland Creek Bridge.

DPS said an 18-wheeler was heading northbound on the highway when it drifted into the southbound lanes and side-swiped a southbound 18-wheeler and then collided with a Ford pickup truck.

The pickup truck driver was treated and released at the scene.

One of the semi-truck drivers was taken to Baylor Scott & White Hospital in College Station while the other semi-truck driver was taken to CHI St. Joseph Regional Health Hospital in Bryan. Both victims had non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash closed the highway between Anderson and Navasota. The highway was reopened around 4:15 p.m.

The crash remains under investigation.

We hope the injured victims recover quickly.

Commercial trucks are known to cause over 90% of accidents in Houston. These truck drivers must understand that their actions majorly contribute to most of the accidents on the roads. It is also important for others on the same roads with truck drivers to understand that maximum precaution should be taken while driving near trucks. While small mistakes like ignoring the turn signal prior to turning may cause accidents, major causes of these accidents are rooted in other factors like exhaustion on the part of truck drivers. If the reasons for the crash are anchored to the failure of following the right turn or driving at a speed that is not legally recommended, a personal injury lawyer will be useful in such scenarios.

If you have been injured in a semi-truck crash, it is advisable to get a lawyer who will facilitate the process of compensation.
