3 Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on 81st Avenue and Soncy Road in Amarillo

Three Hurt in Amarillo Car Crash on 81st Avenue and Soncy Road

Amarillo, Texas (March 8, 2019) – Three people were injured, one of them seriously, when a vehicle driven by a juvenile driver collided with another on Wednesday evening in Amarillo.
According to the Amarillo police, the incident happened at about 5:05 p.m. March 6, at 81st Avenue and Soncy Road.
The APD said a juvenile was driving a 2014 BMW four-door sedan north on Soncy Road when they failed to yield to the right of way while making a turn onto westbound 81st Street. The BMW collided with a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado at the intersection.
The BMW driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries but the passenger, an 18-year-old male, sustained life-threatening injuries. The two were transported to a hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Chevrolet, a 35-year-old man, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The driver was not transported to a hospital.
The APD is investigating the incident.
