3 Killed in Fiery Car Accident on Interstate 20 in Arlington

3 Dead in Arlington DUI Crash on Interstate 20 near Matlock Road

Arlington, Texas (June 8, 2019) – Three people were killed Thursday night in alleged DUI crash in Arlington, authorities said.

The tragic wreck occurred at about 11:00 p.m. Thursday, June 6 in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 20 near Matlock Road.

According to the authorities, an unspecified vehicle became disabled on the right shoulder of the road and its driver called for help. Another car stopped behind the disabled car and two people got out to help.

Another vehicle driven by Jose Castro, 29, slammed into the car that had stopped to help. The force of the impact caused the two people on the outside to be thrown over a guardrail and killed both.

The disabled car burst into flames after the impact. A person inside that car was also killed.  The names of the deceased victims have not been disclosed pending notification of family.

Castro was arrested and booked into jail for three counts of intoxication manslaughter.

The crash remains under investigation.
