3 Killed in Crash on SH 71 in Burnet County

Three Killed in Burnet County Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 71 near East Trail Road

Burnet County, Texas (March 2, 2023) – Three people were killed, and four others were injured early Sunday morning in a head-on collision in Burnet County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 3:00 a.m., February 26, on State Highway 71 near East Trail Road.

DPS said a 2020 Ford F-350 with four occupants was traveling westbound on the highway while a 2013 Hyundai with three occupants was traveling westbound.

The Ford crashed head-on into the Hyundai.

All three people in the Hyundai were killed in the crash. Their identities have not been released.

The occupants of the Ford were taken to Baylor Scott & White in Marble Falls and St. David’s South in Austin for treatment.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
