32-Year-Old Man Killed in Dallas Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash at West Illinois Avenue and Hampton Road

Dallas, Texas (July 13, 2020) – A 32-year-old man was killed early Sunday morning in a hit-and-run crash in Dallas, according to police.

The accident happened around 1:15 a.m. July 12, at the intersection of West Illinois Avenue and Hampton Road.

Police said the man was crossing the street when he was struck by a 2003 GMC Yukon that was traveling eastbound on West Illinois Avenue at a high rate of speed.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

The Yukon became disabled a short distance away from the crash scene, and the driver got out of the car and fled on foot.

The police are looking for the suspect.

An investigation is underway.
