34-Year-Old Man Killed in La Marque Scooter Crash on FM 1765 near Duroux; Bertha Lee Anderson Arrested

La Marque, Texas – A 34-year-old man was killed Sunday evening in a scooter crash in La Marque, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 6:30 p.m., December 24, on FM 1765 near Duroux, close to La Marque High School.

Police said Bertha Lee Anderson, 69, was driving a Buick Envision when she struck the man who was riding a black scooter. The scooter was not equipped with lights and was not registered.

The man was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. His name has not been released.

Anderson was found to have been intoxicated and was taken into custody.

The police are investigating the crash.
